Little sister Chloe is 7 years old and being raised by her grandmother while her mother is incarcerated. Through the REACH grant ( Mentoring Children of Prisoners), Big Brothers Big Sisters-Pikes Peak was able to match Chloe with Big Sister Beth. Big Sister Beth serves not only as Chloe’s Big but as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters-Pikes Peak and is involved with several other organizations as well. Beth and Chloe have enjoyed activities such as horseback riding, attending a Sky Sox game and visiting the library. Beth has formed a strong relationship with Chloe’s grandmother so they may in order to help Chloe benefit the most from Beth’s mentoring. Beth has set a wonderful example of a role model by setting effective boundaries, being patient, and modeling healthy relationships with her own marriage. Chloe’s grandmother is grateful for the mentoring program Big Brothers Big Sisters has provided for Chloe.
